EPPNP (Etobicoke Pre and Post Natal Nutrition Project)

Etobicoke Pre & Post Natal Nutrition Project is a comprehensive pre and postnatal nutrition project that provides nutritious food, social support and informal nutrition/ health education to women during pregnancy and in the first year after their baby is born.A womans nutritional and overall health, before and during pregnancy, influences the health of her developing baby. The participants get support, Nourishment, Education, Referrals etc..

Expecting mothers from all walks of life, age groups, cultures, nationalities, backgrounds etc can register for these programs. Women with gestational diabetes, significant condition of risks to healthy pregnancy outcome, women suffering from Isolation are encouraged to register for these programs.
The programs provide a place where women can relax and chat informally with dietitians, public health nurses, social workers, volunteers and other participants.  Information and advice on nutrition, health and other concerns are provided through one-on-one counseling, group discussions and by sharing ideas with each other.
 


Eating for Two

The Eating for Two Prenatal Nutrition Program is designed to encourage healthy pregnancies and reduce the risk of low birth weight babies among pregnant women and teenagers living on low incomes. The program also supports women who have limited social support and who may be new to Canada.  The first site opened in July 1995, at the Albion Library (Kipling/ Albion).  Today, Eating for Two has six sites located throughout Etobicoke, two serving the teen population.  

Translators are supplied for all participants requiring translation services.  

When ever possible materials are be made available for any language required by participants.

There is a wait time of 1-2 months

Feeding with Love

The Feeding With Love Postnatal Nutrition Program is designed to encourage healthy eating for women and their babies living on low incomes. This program provides a continuum of care for women and their children up to twelve months.  The first site opened in August 2002, at the Albion Library (Kipling/ Albion).  Today, Etobicoke has four sites located throughout the area, one site specifically serving the teen population.

Translators are supplied for all participants requiring translation services. 

When ever possible materials are be made available for any language required by participants.

There is a wait time of 3-4 months
