Our Values and Beliefs
The Centre is committed to achieving a healthier community. This includes the physical, economic, social and mental health of all community members and is supported by strategic partnerships and collaborations and the following values and beliefs:
Respect and Dignity:
Staff, students and community members who participate in Centre activities and use the services will treat each other with respect and dignity.
Accessibility:
The Centre will work actively to reach out to those who have traditionally faced barriers to health care and community service through the delivery of flexible and diverse programs to ensure that they will feel comfortable and welcome.
Diversity:
The Centre values and respects the diversity of its staff and of the people who make up its community. Diversity refers to the different racial and cultural backgrounds, sex, sexual preference, and visible and invisible challenges.
Quality:
The Centre is committed to ensuring that clients receive high quality, comprehensive and holistic care from well-informed, well-qualified staff.
Participation:
Clients and community members have the right to be involved in defining needs, making decisions and taking action to affect their personal health and social situation. They should also be involved in decisions about the Centres activities and programs.
Recognizing Strengths:
The Centre operates on the principle that staff, students and community members have many skills and strengths to offer to bring about personal and community change.
Shared Knowledge:
The Centre is committed to building and sharing knowledge inside the organization and in the community. Staff will provide clients with information to make decisions about their lives, and community members will share their knowledge with each other and staff at the Centre.
Accountability:
The staff and Board are accountable to the community for the actions and services of the Centre.
Health Promotion Through Social Change:
The Board and staff will advocate for the improvement of the economic status, education and housing conditions of its community. Better health will be achieved, in part, through the improvement of these factors.
1. Sustainable Programs
Increase the sustainability of RCHC programs, ensuring that they are aligned with the needs of the community and reflect the priorities of funders.
2. RCHC – A Centre of Excellence
Improve RCHC services and programs by achieving better integration within RCHC and with partner organizations, improving accessibility by reducing program and service gaps (including mental health services) and ensuring service delivered is better informed (e.g e health initiatives that align with those of the CWLHIN and increase ability to share information and improve patient outcome , increased application of best practice research).
3. Strong Team, Cohesive Organization
Support the development of a strong team and cohesive organization through improved communication, stable staffing, better integration across teams and better inter-staff and management-staff relations.
4. Improved community outreach and community relations
Improve community outreach and community relations by promoting increased community awareness and understanding of RCHC, increasing partnerships within the community, promoting better integration of RCHC services with services offered by other organizations, and advocating on behalf of the community with an emphasis on reducing poverty.

Services will target clients living in the East Mall, West Mall and Capri communities.
The service accountability agreement is a multi-year agreement. It supports a collaborative relationship between the LHIN and the Rexdale Community Health Center to improve the health of Ontarians through better access to high quality health services, to co-ordinate health care in local health systems and to manage the health system at the local level effectively and efficiently.
