Digital Device Lending Library: Seniors Friendly Tablets

Accessible Tablets:

Accessible tablets that have been reconfigured to support persons with visual and hearing impairment are also available.

The Devices are WIFI / Cellular enabled and are pre-loaded with all links to our Zoom programs.

There is also a Helpline and 1-1 training support offered by the staff of our partner agency Human Endeavour.

Kobo Reader Devices

In partnership with Tech Coaches and Rakuten Kobo, the Rakuten Kobo Digital Book Club provides an opportunity for up to 19 seniors to take part in a book club. The book club members are loaned a Kobo Libra H20 device with access to up to 824,037 titles available through a free Kobo Plus subscription. The club meets on a monthly basis via Zoom to discuss titles that are agreed upon.

The Tablets / Kobo Readers are specifically to be used to enable access to RCHC Zoom Programs and Services. There are limited tablets / Kobo Readers available at this time. Digital Literacy Club: – Thursday from 1 pm – 2 pm weekly

RCHC seniors are welcome to join weekly drop-in sessions for the digital literacy club (DLC) to master the basics of their personal devices, ask questions and get opinions, and feel safe knowing a trustworthy group supports your technology journey. Club meeting are guided by a professional instructor and include topics such as smartphone and tablet best practices, organizing files in the cloud, Internet browsers and search engines, Microsoft Windows, camera apps and photo management, online shopping and digital wallets, text-based communication, scams, and much more!
